Snapchat is fast becoming a platform for large companies to engage with audiences, especially in the 18-35 years age group. People in this age group are also spending a lot more time on Snapchat than other social media platforms, including Instagram.

In this episode of the Social Media for Small Business podcast, Suzi Dafnis and Cat Matson interview Jo Scard, the founder and principal of Fifty Acres with over 20 years’ experience in communications, about how small businesses can use Snapchat to reach their audience.

Jo says Snapchat videos can be a useful storytelling tool to focus attention on what your business is doing, including preparations for an upcoming event or launch for your business. Using Snapchat for your business requires commitment to grow it as a platform and recognising whether it is suitable for you based on the demographics of your clients.

Listen in to find out more about:

  • How Snapchat is being used and by whom
  • How businesses and blogs are using Snapchat
  • Influencing consumers through Snapchat
  • New features on iOS 10
  • How you can use Instagram’s new business tools to promote your business

Mentioned in this episode:

  • Instagram’s upcoming business tools
  • Fifty Acres – The Communications Agency
  • Jo’s favourite social media platform: instagram.com
  • Social Media Examiner’s report on Snapchat
  • Snapchatters to follow: Lisa Messenger, The Collective Hub
