In this episode of the Social Media for Small Business, Suzi Dafnis interviews Ryan Bonnici, the Marketing Director of Hubspot in Asia Pacific, about inbound marketing and how to use it to turn strangers into promoters of your business.
Traditional marketing techniques like ads, fliers, and clickbait emails are ‘outbound’ marketing – a business sends out interruptive content in order to bring clients in. Inbound marketing, rather, focuses on quality content that attracts customers with tools like blogs, SEO, social media, and email marketing to subscribers. Inbound marketing is much more accessible to small and medium business owners than outbound, and allows for a more level playing field between the two. The technique allows a small business owner to create and market content that only they can create, which, Ryan explains, no one else can compete with.
