 – The Rewards for Showing Up

We know we need more clients and we need clients coming back and referring us when they’ve used our services, or visited our eCommerce store, or come into our retail outlet.

Getting new clients starts with Showing Up.

But, SHOWING UP isn’t always easy, even for the most outgoing women.

SHOWING UP in a consistent way can be tricky when we have so many competing demands on our time.

But I know from personal experience that to get new clients, reach more people, make connections, and create an audience ready for our offers, it takes showing up.

That’s when we are rewarded with more clients, more leads and a network of people who know, like and trust us and refer business to us.

Showing up even if…

  • You’re an introvert.
  • You’re not sure about how to talk about your business without rambling or feeling like you’re boring people.
  • You don’t like your appearance.
  • You don’t know that anyone really needs or wants your product or service.
  • Had a really tough time last year and you’re still reeling from the experience of lockdown and changes brought on by COVID, and perhaps that experience has you feeling less confident and doubting yourself.

That’s where you start to see the rewards.

Sounds simple enough.

But I get it. Showing up isn’t easy for me either.

Even though I have a podcast, I do Facebook LIVES, run workshops, run a high-level mastermind, speak on people’s webinars, speak on stages at live events, etc. It’s still not easy. And as an introvert, I still struggle a little in the day-to-day.

But here is what changed things for me.

  1. Having the RIGHT PLACE to SHOW UP – somewhere where I’d feel comfortable even if I wasn’t feeling successful and if I didn’t know where to start finding clients or getting the word out about my business
  2. Having an EASY WAY to SHOW UP that felt natural and didn’t need me to have it all figured out – with my perfect sales pitch and a pile of business cards ready to hand out to anyone who’d take one.

Listen to hear how showing up brings the rewards of getting more clients, reaching more people and feeling more connected without feeling like you have to be sales or pushy, and even if you’re an introvert.

About the host

Suzi Dafnis

Hi there. I’m Suzi Dafnis, CEO at HerBusiness. My BIG passion is helping women business owners to grow and scale their business, so that they can create their ideal lifestyle and make a difference in the world. Every day I am inspired by the more than 30,000 amazing women (and men!) in our community and I love finding the best education, mentors, and resources from around the globe, to help them get the skills, knowledge, and support they need to succeed. It’s been my privilege to lead HerBusiness (formerly The Australian Businesswomen’s Network) for the past 23 years (two+ decades – WOW!) because, whilst I’ve enjoyed success in business, I’ve also experienced the highs and the lows – sometimes you can feel on top of the world and in control and other times you can feel isolated, exhausted and stuck. What has made the biggest difference for me has always been having great people around me and having a lifelong commitment to learning. That’s why I am so passionate about the work we do here at HerBusiness – providing a Connection Network for women in business to get the mentors, contacts, referrals, knowledge, and skills they need to grow their confidence, make more money, build their businesses, expand their network and create the lives they love. My entrepreneurial journey started in the spare room of my Sydney apartment in 1994 when my business partner and I started a boutique events company that represented speakers and authors from the USA, here in Australia. Over the years I’ve grown multiple multi-million dollar businesses in the events, publishing and education niches – with teams in Australia, New Zealand, and the USA. Not everything has worked and there has been a degree of trial and error, and a lot of bumps in the road. But I have always had a strong commitment to always surrounding myself with great mentors and like-minded peers – a Connection Network that I can depend on and who can depend on me to be there for them too. I truly do what I love, every day.
