The People Growth Zone incorporates how you hire people, train them, motivate them and even how you make the decision when it’s the right time to grow or shrink your team.

Leadership was a challenge for me – I didn’t know how to manage well and I found it hard to let go and I also was not confident managing people older than myself having difficult conversations and taking on the role of leader.
I remember the fourth time I had to hire a receptionist that didn’t work out — I had to look at the one common denominator – ME! I had to look at my communication, my leadership, our training and our systems.
I developed a system on ‘how we do things here’ and this was the start of our operations manual.
Then everything go systemised so that training was easier. At the height of our growth as we were bring on staff we got out of control – we had to bring in systems for management reporting etc, we had to bring in a layer of staff between me and the more junior staff as I was managing too many direct reports.
