 - 5 Places Growth Is Hiding in Your Business

What if your next big business growth opportunity is already sitting right in front of you?

Not in a new marketing strategy. Not in another course. And not in yet another idea to add to your already overflowing to-do list.

But somewhere inside the business you’re running right now.

As women business owners, we’re rarely short of ideas.

Raise your prices. Fix the website. Hire someone. Launch that new offer. Get more consistent with your marketing.

They’re all good ideas.

But when everything feels important, how do you decide what deserves your attention FIRST?

In this episode of the HerBusiness Podcast, Suzi Dafnis shares five places growth could be hiding in your business and a practical way to identify which opportunity could make the biggest difference.

Because sometimes, the secret to growing your business isn’t doing more.

It’s choosing better.

The 5 Places Growth Could Be Hiding

Before you add another project to your list, take a closer look at these five areas:

1. OUTGROWN — What’s no longer working as well as it used to?

Perhaps it’s your pricing, your onboarding process or an offer you created years ago. What worked at one stage of business may no longer serve you at the next.

2. UNDERUSED — What are you not making the most of?

You might have an offer that sells beautifully, a loyal client base or referrals that come naturally. Could you get more from something that’s already working?

3. STUCK — What’s slowing everything else down?

Is there a bottleneck holding your business back? Sometimes, fixing ONE thing can make three or four other things easier.

4. LEAKING — Where are you losing time, money or energy?

Think about the activities, offers or commitments that take more than they give back. What’s quietly draining your resources?

5. WAITING — What opportunity have you been putting off?

Maybe it’s raising your prices, making a hire or pursuing a partnership. What’s been sitting on your “I’ll get to that” list for months?

How to Choose What Comes First

Finding the opportunities is just the beginning.

Suzi shares three questions to help you decide where to focus:

  • Leverage: If I made this move, what else would become easier?
  • Readiness: Could I realistically start within the next 30 days?
  • Cost of waiting: What happens if I put this off for another six months?

From there, you’ll learn how to organise your priorities into three simple categories:

NOW: Your most important growth move for the next 30 days.

NEXT: What you’ll focus on over the following 90 days.

LATER: An opportunity that matters, but doesn’t need your attention just yet.

And you’ll discover how to take the first small, meaningful step without creating another overwhelming action plan.

Because the order you do things matters just as much as what you choose to do.

Listen and Find Your Next Growth Move

You don’t need to tackle everything on your list.

You need to identify what matters most — and give yourself permission to let the rest wait.

About the host

Suzi Dafnis

Hi there. I’m Suzi Dafnis, CEO at HerBusiness. My BIG passion is helping women business owners to grow and scale their business, so that they can create their ideal lifestyle and make a difference in the world. Every day I am inspired by the more than 30,000 amazing women (and men!) in our community and I love finding the best education, mentors, and resources from around the globe, to help them get the skills, knowledge, and support they need to succeed. It’s been my privilege to lead HerBusiness (formerly The Australian Businesswomen’s Network) for the past 23 years (two+ decades – WOW!) because, whilst I’ve enjoyed success in business, I’ve also experienced the highs and the lows – sometimes you can feel on top of the world and in control and other times you can feel isolated, exhausted and stuck. What has made the biggest difference for me has always been having great people around me and having a lifelong commitment to learning. That’s why I am so passionate about the work we do here at HerBusiness – providing a Connection Network for women in business to get the mentors, contacts, referrals, knowledge, and skills they need to grow their confidence, make more money, build their businesses, expand their network and create the lives they love. My entrepreneurial journey started in the spare room of my Sydney apartment in 1994 when my business partner and I started a boutique events company that represented speakers and authors from the USA, here in Australia. Over the years I’ve grown multiple multi-million dollar businesses in the events, publishing and education niches – with teams in Australia, New Zealand, and the USA. Not everything has worked and there has been a degree of trial and error, and a lot of bumps in the road. But I have always had a strong commitment to always surrounding myself with great mentors and like-minded peers – a Connection Network that I can depend on and who can depend on me to be there for them too. I truly do what I love, every day.
