About Me - My Biography

Michelle has 25 years experience in the fitness industry. She has trained thousands of fitness trainers both nationally and internationally and is a regular expert commentator across all media. She is arguably Australia’s most recognisable personal trainer, having appeared on several major television shows including The Biggest Loser, 7pm Project, Celebrity Master Chef. She is the author of eleven bestselling books, has launched her own apparel, fitness accessories and food range and is co-founder of Australia’s most successful online weight loss program, the Michelle Bridges Twelve Week Body Transformation.

Her Story

Having helped Aussies lose over 1 million kilos (to date) on her online program, Michelle Bridges is one of Australia’s most influential health and fitness experts. Michelle mixes her tough love message with a heartwarming compassion and understanding, which has won the hearts and minds of Australians from all walks of life.

Known as the Queen of Motivation, Michelle works to find unique and helpful ways to motivate Australians in achieving their health and fitness goals. In a survey of 1,000 Australians, she found that the number one thing holding them back was lack of motivation.

“You can be motivated through setting yourself goals or wanting to be able to achieve a certain thing. Maybe you want to get stronger in your upper body and be able to do 10 pushups. Maybe you want to do a 5k. Or maybe you want to lose 1 kilo or 2. Whatever your goal is it can motivate you.”

As a professional trainer and group fitness instructor with over 20 years experience, Michelle was a renowned industry figure before shooting to fame in 2007 as the straight-talking trainer on Channel Ten’s hit reality show The Biggest Loser.

During this time she has broken two Guinness World Records, launched the highly successful Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation online program, published 10 bestselling books, created a hugely successful apparel and fitness equipment range exclusively for BIG W, and has her own supplement range through Blackmores.

She regularly features in magazines (Women’s Health, Woman’s Day, Cosmopolitan, BBC, Good Food, New Idea) and on radio (2DayFM, Nova, Triple M and WSFM), and is integral to the PR and marketing campaigns for The Biggest Loser.

Michelle Bridges is a regular fixture in the health and wellbeing scene – to Australians she is a symbol of fitness and has an ‘Never say never’ motivational attitude.

Along with her fame, Michelle is an ambassador for The Australian Institute of Fitness, and is a loyal supporter of the RSPCA, Black Dog Institute, and the Mother’s Day Classic.

Michelle is an in demand public speaker and captivates audiences with her energy and passion. Talking on a variety of subjects from motivation to fitness, and nutrition to exercise, Michelle has engaged many with her fervour for fitness. Having spoken at many events, Michelle’s appearances range from gym openings to major industry events such as FILEX and the Australian Fitness & Health Expo.

Strategies for Success

  1. Don’t take no for an answer. If you believe in what you are doing and who you are then go back to the drawing board and figure it out. Listen. Still do your thing, the way you do, with your unique flair, but listen to solid feedback and tweak your idea. It’s one thing to be bullish. Another to be bullheaded.
  2. Create something that people need and want. I was constantly asked by people if I could train them and create meal plans for them. It was from this demand that my 12 Week Body Transformation program was born.
  3. Have a strong work ethic and don’€™t expect anyone else to prop you up.
  4. Focus on what you are good at and then surround yourself with people who are good at things you are not. Make sure they are as passionate about they do as you are. I’m adamant about surrounding myself with passionate positive people. It’s a must!
  5. Have a goal that has a meaning to your life. I have always wanted to leave a legacy. Getting people fit and healthy and giving people longevity in their lives has always been a passion of mine.
