About Me - My Biography

Hi. I’m Belinda and I’m the boss of my own life.

As a busy marketer, speaker, author, wife and mother, I know there’s no such thing as work/life balance. Instead, I go for harmony. Since founding Green Chilli Marketing in 2008, and now Green Chilli Marketing Franchise (http://www.greenchillimarketing.com.au/franchise/), I’m busier than ever  – but no one is missing out.

My life has been my version of priorities since I decided to scrap this work/life balance business and my family and I are the better for it.

My Expertise

When clients are in a spin and unsure of how to navigate the marketing maze, I’m the person they turn to for the ideas that will make their brands sing. I think watching businesses thrive is one of the most satisfying feelings a marketer can have, especially when you know you helped.

Being a Certified Practising Marketer and an Associate Fellow with the Australian Marketing Institute gives me the credentials to help others be CEOs of their own lives and deliver some innovative marketing to up the ante for brands.

Over the years I’ve worked on a diverse range of industries; from aged care to IT, education to retail. I know how to position brands to maximum effect.

My Passions

If you meet me in person, you’ll understand why I list ‘passions’ and not ‘interests’. I’ve been told in my life that I’m enthusiastic. Life is too short to have interests, I’ll let you fill in the rest.

I’m lucky to be able to follow my main passions of family, marketing, charity work and writing. Running my own business gives me the time to be there for my daughter’s school assemblies and sporting events and go to my son’s kindergym classes but, more importantly, simply to be there when they need me.

The plight of underprivileged women is a cause dear to my heart so I’m doing something about it. Currently I’m helping 3 Angels Nepal with their marketing, fund-raising and social media. In fact, I was lucky enough to travel to Nepal to make a documentary on how 3 Angels are helping the Nepalese communities combat people trafficking. I’m also on the board of Got Your Back Sista, a charity that helps women fight back from domestic violence.

My children’s book, But she still has time for me, is all about reassuring yourself and your family that, no matter the work pressures, your love never wavers. Remember that harmony I mentioned earlier? That’s the key message in my book, as working women, at home and in business, we can make the choice to have the best of both worlds.

Speaker and mentor

Why do I take on so many speaking and mentoring engagements? Well, I’m passionate about life and all things marketing and so encouraging others to share that passion.

You’ve heard the phrase, “Lamp, lifeboat or ladder”? Why not be all three, I say.

Why I Became a HerBusiness Member

I’m not much of a joiner but when I checked out HerBusiness, it was clear that it’s a proactive, exciting and motivating community and its strength is in its network of amazing and inspiring people. Basically, I’m pretty darn chuffed to be a part of such bunch! So pop over and say Hi.
