26 – 5 Reasons to Add Webinars to Your Content Marketing Strategy

Webinars are a really powerful platform for delivering your content, establishing your authority and reaching and connecting with your ideal customers… and yet many people shy away from them thinking they are too hard; the tech too overwhelming; and the idea of presenting to an “invisible” audience too intimidating.

But when you weigh up the compelling reasons for adding webinars to your content marketing, including the fact they are easy (when you know how), cost effective, can be done from anywhere and provide a great way for your audience to interact with you and BUY from you… you may change your mind.

In this episode of the Content Sells Podcast, your hosts Suzi Dafnis and Michelle Falzon dispel some of the myths and concerns many people have around webinars and “wave the flag” for incorporating more webinars into your marketing mix (after all, both Suzi and Michelle have successfully used webinars to generate thousands of leads and sales and they want you to enjoy some of the benefits too).

Whether you’ve never done a webinar or, even if you’ve done a few but you’re not really sure if they’re a good use of your time, or perhaps you didn’t get the results you’d hoped for – this episode is for you. And, as well as the five reasons to make webinars part of your content strategy, we look at some handy tools and talk about the different types of webinars you can run.

Plus, included in this episode is a free download, How to Present to A Virtual Audience, which draws on both Suzi and Michelle’s extensive experience presenting webinars and helps you connect, influence and feel more confident when presenting using the webinar format.

Listen to this episode to hear more about:

  • Why webinars are a lot like surfing!
  • How to generate new leads using webinars (even if you don’t have an email list)
  • Why you may want to consider offering a webinar as a “next step” after a lead magnet optin
  • What you can expect in terms of show rates to free webinars
  • How you can ethically use webinars to reach other people’s communities
  • Whether you need guests on your webinars (why and when this makes sense/doesn’t make sense)
  • How webinars can become a 24/7 salesperson for you
  • The thrilling outcome for Suzi of having automated webinars
  • The difference between live and automated webinars and how to know which one to use and when
  • Why creating a webinar may be the ideal way for you to create your Core Content
  • Tips on re-purposing webinar content
  • How many core ideas you should include in a 1 hour webinar
  • What you need to consider before you start driving traffic to your webinar

Also mentioned in this episode:

  • Webex
  • Stealth Webinar
  • Webinar Jam
  • EverWebinar
