About Me - My Biography
Claire Hatton is an Industry Leader for Google Australia and NZ. She leads a team of industry experts to help local businesses, government and the travel industry make the most of their presence online. Claire came to Google in March 2007 with extensive experience across Asia in the travel and finance industries. Prior to joining Google Claire was Director of Marketing and Product Management for Travelport, responsible for the Galileo and Gullivers Travel brands.
Claire was named UK Person of the Year in 1998 at the age of 26 for her work as Chief Representative, Indonesia for Qantas and British Airways. In this role, Claire was instrumental in helping 2500 people escape from riots in Jakarta. In 1999, she was awarded the Outstanding Service Award to the Airline Industry APAC and the Unsung Heroes Award, Celebrities Guild of Great Britain.
Claire sits on the Australian Board for Plan International, a children’s organisation working with communities in 48 developing countries to alleviate child poverty. She has travelled extensively throughout her career, working in London, Jakarta, Singapore, Beijing, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur.
Claire holds an MBA from IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland.
Claire is based in Sydney, Australia, and has a keen interest in all things related to travel and photography.
