About Me - My Biography

In 2013, Roz Campbell undertook a fundraising challenge for a local charity, One Girl’s Do It In A Dress initiative. Instead of using normal sanitary items for her menstrual period, she used rags, sponges, newspapers and leaves, and documented the experience to raise awareness of the reality that millions of women around the world face with every menstrual cycle. Too many women have to spend time out of school every month because they have no access to sanitary menstrual products – which leads to them falling behind in school, struggling with exams and too often, dropping out.

Roslyn wanted to do something to help change this. In 2014, Roslyn crowd funded over $40,000 to purchase a shipping container full of eco-friendly bamboo fibre sanitary pads, and launched her business, Tsuno.

Tsuno, a sanitary pad producer, donates 50% of profits to charities that empower women living in poverty. Currently, Tsuno has an engagement with One Girl, which gives education scholarships to girls in Sierra Leone and Uganda, and runs the menstrual hygiene program Launch Pad. Today, Tsuno distributes its products across Australia, the United Kingdom, parts of Europe, Malaysia and Singapore.

Tsuno uses bamboo because of its host of natural benefits, which include being one of the most eco-friendly and sustainable fibres on the planet, its breathable and soft texture, its incredibly fast growing time, its natural antibacterial properties and much more.

In late 2016, Roz crowd funded $45,000 to introduce organic cotton tampons to Tsuno’s product range. They are set to launch in March 2017. Tsuno is also working to create a completely 100% biodegradable product.

  • Be disciplined to make time for yourself and your health.
  • Be original. Don’t copy other businesses.
