My Connection Statement

I’m a customer journey champion and solutionist for small business owners overwhelmed by their digital channels and content creation. I help them find and keep their ideal customers by designing a roadmap for them to DIY or through a Done For You service package with targeted ongoing monthly activities.

About Me - My Biography

Forced out of my aviation technology product management role with Virgin Australia due to the knockout punches of 1. The airline going into administration, and 2. a pandemic, I started a side hustle while waiting for the storm to pass.

Turns out, I loved going back to my roots in marketing, communications, and production so much that I decided to stay and make a go of it.  I turned my side hustle into my main hustle.

The thing I love the most about my new gig is meeting other small business owners (there’s so many incredible people doing amazing things) and understanding their challenges. I especially enjoy wrangling their demanding digital channels into shape and then feeding those every-hungry beasts constantly with content.

As a behavioural scientist, I have a keen ability to examine and identify obstacles to a cohesive customer journey. Smoothing that path, from acquisition to conversion and retention, underpins everything I do for my clients.

My Expertise

I love meeting small business owners to unpick their challenges and deliver solutions. I’m obsessed with optimising the consumer journey through digital pathways, whether that involves redesigning brand elements, better aligning channels, building or refreshing web sites, opening up new platforms, crafting compelling content to nurture products and audiences, improving SEO or managing product activations and media coverage. I deftly balance business goals with innovation, while maintaining technical consistency and quality, plus – I’m not at all afraid of getting my hands dirty!

In the past 15 years, I’ve innovated internationally awarded solutions to bring compelling materials to audiences, boosting brand engagement and satisfaction results. Bullseye clients are in travel, technology systems, medical equipment, healthcare, entertainment, finance, employment, festivals and events.

My Passions

Aside from my two enormous sons (I’m pretty passionate about helping shape some decent, contemporary young men), I’m obsessed with rowing and I’m always in training for some big regatta. End of year Head races are coming up, first in Brisbane, then the Head of the Yarra.

I also love food and wine, making it (food that is) and consuming it. My ideal lifestyle would be to travel to row in insanely beautiful locations (imagine paddling on the Nile past the pyramids!?) and then immersing myself in the culture and cuisine of that place — Egyptian Shawarma and Koshari anyone? I recently discovered I was wrong about Queensland wines after a trip to Stanthorpe (Australia highest altitude wine region), when I tasted some incredible wines…I’m a Tempranillo snob and was delighted to discover quality equal to my Spanish favourites and then, Sagrantino came into my life, and I’m a changed woman.

Another great love of mine is art, I’m a fan of all kinds of artist endeavour and thread engagement with art forms into my life. I’m also a creator of art, it’s mostly for personal satisfaction, but recently my youngest son and I have been painting traffic signal boxes. I’m a film aficionado, having worked in the industry in acquisition, distribution and exhibition for the better part of my life, plus, I simply love watching film and long-form TV and deeply respect the creative process involved in getting material produced.

My Interests

I have an enduring interest in philosophy. Earlier in life, perhaps somewhat typically, I was deeply invested in the Beat Poets and their ideas of challenging norms. I transitioned into Existentialism through the writings of Sartre and de Beauvoir and because the Beats sent me on the road, and I was living in Europe.

Then I read Ayn Rand, and, while living in Russia, became fascinated by Objectivism, thus followed years of dedicated and productive work.  Most recently, and especially as I believe I’ve needed it to survive, Stoicism has become my mainstay.  Still a student, still asking questions…

How I Can Help Other Members

I love meeting people in business and learning about the amazing things they’ve got going on and I have found a skill in navigating through tricky conundrums and problem solving.  My solutions always prioritise a cohesive customer journey and elevating sales results and I believe I have something to offer other members in this space.

In the past 25 years, on a number of occasions, I’ve inadvertently been a mentor to young women in business and that’s simply been a result of recognising that person’s unique abilities and believing deeply and enabling them to cut through the clutter and deliver in their own way. What a great gift that is to give someone.
