About Me - My Biography

I'm Australian but US educated: Vassar and Columbia, where I did a Masters in Arts Administration. I lived in New York for about 7 years before convincing my husband that the weather was better in Sydney! Art and wine are my two great passions after my girls (13 & 15), husband and dog Ollie! I helped my husband start Cellarit about 10 years ago. We began as a wine storage company but have expanded our services to include online wine sales (we sell wine on behalf of our storage customers) and wine gifts.

My Expertise

I’m not sure if I’m really good at anything! I’m on a steep learning curve re. everything to do about wine. I’m passionate about learning, and enjoy new challenges. I’m also relishing the opportunity to do something creative by researching and writing the Cellarit Wine Blog. In the past year, I’ve written around 140 articles on wine, so my knowledge of wine is definitely growing!

In the early years of the business I was focused on administration and customer service. My background is in arts administration and public relations.

My Passions

In addition to my family and my dog, I’m passionate about art and wine. And of course food, as it goes really well with both.

I also love to travel and attend art events. I’m a member of the MCA and the Art Gallery of NSW’s Contemporary Collection Benefactors program.

How I Can Help Other Members

I’m happy to help other members with wine storage or wine gifts needs.

Having helped with the formation and development of a new business,I’m familiar with the challenges, and the highs and lows of doing it on your own. It was really tough in the beginning, as neither my husband or I had ever run our own business. We have both learned a wide range of new skills, and have been fortunate to see the business grow.

Why I Became a HerBusiness Member

I am very impressed with the quality of material presented by the ABN. I regularly attend the ‘Booked for Lunch’ series and other events as much as possible. I have picked up some excellent business tips from the ABN programs, and learned about some other terrific resources.
