My Connection Statement
I help busy women to deal with issues which prevent them from living and working to their full potential, so they can thrive, by providing counselling and workshops.
I also help organisations to resolve issues which prevent the people in their team from working to their full potential, by providing Employee Assistance Services (EAP), workshops and consultancy.
My Expertise
I have over 30 years’ experience in the fields of counselling, groupwork, teaching and training. I draw from my Master of Counselling, and various qualifications in Art Therapy, Workplace Training and Assessment, Mediation and Project Management, to design strategies specific to each person and organisation.
As a busy mother of 4 and experienced team leader, I understand the challenges of parenting and working in teams, including balancing priorities and working with complex dynamics and mixes of personalities.
Over 12 years of teaching in the TAFE system and many more years of providing training in organisations and groups allows me to confidently and effectively work with clients to clarify where things need to get to, and develop clear strategies to get there.
For individuals in counselling I tailor the sessions to suit their needs taking into account their strengths and their context, so that they can recognise and work with their own strengths and build their resources and confidence to navigate their challenges.
For organisations, I work with workplace leaders to identify areas of strength and opportunities for teams to work together better, with a goal of improved workplace culture, stronger teamwork and excellent resources to weather workplace challenges.
My Passions
Relationships are key. In life, in love and in work. Helping people to relate well to each other can make a big difference.
In counselling I help people to understand the group dynamics to make it easier to navigate.
I am passionate about developing healthy group dynamics so that teams and groups can function collaboratively and effectively.
When working with individuals and groups I love to help people to build their sense of confidence. Clarification of the strengths that they already possess provides a strong foundation to achieve goals and thrive.
My Interests
I thoroughly enjoy creative arts and where appropriate I draw upon art therapy techniques to encourage joy, freedom of expression and exploration of concepts.
In counselling, I use my expertise in the field of trauma, to help clients to release themselves from barriers to living their best life. Thus clients can move forward with an improved sense of self, more coping strategies and greater potential to experience joy in their lives.
How I Can Help Other Members
I can help other Herbusiness members to clarify areas of their personal life that they would like to change and help them to create a strategy to do so. I can work with them to release some of their personal stress and emotional struggles to free them to better focus on their other priorities.
I can also help other members by clarifying and/or delivering professional development which could help staff to enjoy strong wellbeing in the workplace and good teamwork. Thus teams can thrive and work to their full potential.
Why I Became a HerBusiness Member
I became a Herbusiness member to meet and connect with strong successful businesswomen, so that I can learn, and gain skills and knowledge. I would value broadening my networks. I also hope that I can provide services to help others.
