About Me - My Biography

I am an Interior Stylist, my business is The Calm Home.  I love playing around with spaces and making them look as good as they can be.

I know it is something that we always move down on our list of priorities but I can work with you to tackle it and get it sorted out so you stop feeling frustrated and enjoy your home.

One of the unique things about my approach is it’s affordable.  I select pieces that are within your budget and only suggest changes I know you will be comfortable undertaking.

The other unique thing is that it introduces an element of organisation. Getting spaces sorted out so they work for you and your family, and most importantly setting it up so that it stays that way is a priority.  With just a few changes you will be amazed how easily a space can stay under control, you can even get the kids to put things away because we have created a space for everything – no excuses.

I have a background in Project Management, primarily implementing information systems into large corporate organisations.  Most recently I worked for a consulting company and was outsourced to the project teams of large organisations such as Telstra, Delloite and Victoria Police.

I have been on Maternity leave for the past 7 years.  I decided to follow my passion and interests and start my own Interior Styling business, The Calm Home.

 

My Passions

I love nice things and it is important to me that things look good.  I love being organised and thrive on sorting things out so you can sit down, relax and totally enjoy where you are.  Most people don’t know you can style your home without it costing you a fortune.

I want to help others create a home they love and really enjoy being in.  You should be able to look around your home and love what you see, not feel constantly frustrated by the fact that it could look better or its tired and outdated.

How I Can Help Other Members

I aim to make Interior Styling accessible to everyone and to eliminate the perception that it is a luxury service which is out of reach for most people.  Everyone should have a home they enjoy and are proud of.

Most of us just don’t have the time, the energy or the know how to choose new pieces for their home.  I take care of all of that for you.  I look at the current space, come up with ideas for how it can be improved, suggest furniture, rugs, accessories, art work or anything else needed.  I present this on a visual eStyle Board for you along with a list of where to get everything.  If you still don’t have time, I’ll do all the ordering and purchasing and come and set up the room for you.

Why I Became a HerBusiness Member

After being out of the workforce for 7 years I had very little idea how to start up my own business.  I did the administrative things, business name, ABN etc then it all came to a grinding halt.  I joined HerBusiness for direction, inspiration, advice and education. I also became a member so that I didn’t feel like I was alone and the only one doing this.  Its great to know I’m in the same boat as so many other women out there.
