Krista Neher of Boot Camp Digital and author of Visual Social Marketing for Dummies, shares her advice on how to use visuals in social media. In this Social Media for Small Business podcast, she discusses how to become more visual in your company’s social media platforms and how pictures bring a better emotional connection with your costumers.
She explains that our brains process images faster than text and that is a primary reason why visuals have strongly emerged in the social media arena.
Krista answers the question “How can you be more visual?” to help your business’s social media presence. She believes in the 3 R’s rule- real pictures of real things taken by real people. Consumers like images that tell a story and create underlying content for your product. When portraying an image of your brand your clients want to see pictures that will bring a connection between them and your product.
For businesses that are more serviced based, Krista suggests ways you can enhance your visual presence. Taking pictures that position your product in an appropriate way by posting photos of webinars and events you are hosting or attending.
Krista advises you to try the app Instagram as way to reach out to new audiences and costumers. The importance of hash tags as a visual component to find your audience, and target what peaks their interest.
