Your role as a Mentoree is to:
- Take responsibility for identifying and achieving development goals
- Develop goals with your mentor that you would like help in achieving during the program
- Establish specific goals and objectives for the mentoring relationship
- Be open-minded. Take advantage of the opportunity to be exposed to new experiences, ideas and approaches
- Receive both positive and constructive feedback graciously, and implement as appropriate
- Seek clarification on points not understood
- Use your mentor as a resource for knowledge and sounding board for ideas and issues
- Ask questions of your mentor trusting that if she or he doesn’t know the answer, they will know where to find it
