Your role as a Mentoree is to:

  • Take responsibility for identifying and achieving development goals
  • Develop goals with your mentor that you would like help in achieving during the program
  • Establish specific goals and objectives for the mentoring relationship
  • Be open-minded. Take advantage of the opportunity to be exposed to new experiences, ideas and approaches
  • Receive both positive and constructive feedback graciously, and implement as appropriate
  • Seek clarification on points not understood
  • Use your mentor as a resource for knowledge and sounding board for ideas and issues
  • Ask questions of your mentor trusting that if she or he doesn’t know the answer, they will know where to find it
