The mentoring relationship will be more efficient and more impactful when you spend some time preparing for and thinking about important things: where you have come from, where you are now, what the Diagnostic tells you about your skills/experience, the stories you can your share to reflect why you are in business.
Supercharging Each Mentoring Session
- Review your notes from the previous session
- Think about the most important topic you would like to work on in the session and come to your session prepared and clear about the area
- Set a goal or key outcome for the session
- Establish a suitable environment for your session – free from background noise, disconnect from email/text, away from people who may overhear your conversation
- Log into Zoom a couple of minutes before the session commences and test your equipment
- Put your key learnings in writing
- Schedule your follow-up actions in your calendar
