How do you choose Mentorees and Mentors?

Mentorees are women (and men) business owners. While the program is recommended for those with at least six (6) of months of business experience, the program is open to anyone who currently owns or operates a full time or part time business.

Mentors are invited to take part in mentoring. Applications are carefully considered based on the mentors’ business experience. Mentors may be men or women who have owned and operated their business for a minimum of five (5) years in Australia. Mentors can be located nationally, even globally.

Mentors enter into a signed agreement with HerBusiness to address privacy, conflict and business sensitive issues and commit to following the Code of Conduct.

How do Mentorees get matched to a Mentor?

Mentorees are matched to Mentors who have the expertise that matches the Mentoree’s business goals/objectives and who are in a non-conflicting industry to that of the Mentoree. Mentorees complete a questionnaire that outlines their short and long-term objectives for mentoring.

If there is a problem with a match, we aim to resolve it as quickly as possible and find more suitable partners if necessary.

What is the duration of the mentoring session?

One-on-one mentoring is available in 4, 8 or 12 sessions at a time and on dates set by agreement between mentor and mentoree. The minimum is four sessions, and we recommend monthly sessions. Each mentoring session is one hour in length and is conducted via Zoom.

Most HerBusiness mentorees choose to extend their mentoring relationship and add more sessions.

How do mentors and mentorees interact if they don’t meet in person?

Mentoring is conducted via Zoom.  Our goal is to match the mentoree, regardless of location, with the most suitable mentor who can help them achieve their business objectives.
