My Connection Statement
I collaborate with purpose driven business owners to build ‘remarkable” brands by uncovering brand stories that build trust and loyalty, through consulting, coaching and digital products.
About Me - My Biography
I fell into marketing a lifetime ago. Luckily for me I love what I do, I always have. The part of marketing that I love the most is building brands. It is creative.
I love brands and consider them to be my “babies”. Some people have real “babies” others fur “babies”, I have brand “babies. Over 40 years I have had the privilege of nurturing some well known brands such as Goulburn Valley, Sorbent and Yellowglen. All very different, but all loved.
My time as a small business owner started after I burnt out in a corporate career. Sound familiar? I just wanted to do something to earn a living while I recuperated. My solution was to take over a small printing, promotional products and sign making business. Not the best idea I’ve ever had. I became the queen of pivoting before it was a thing.
During a mentoring call with the fabulous PJ, we discussed what I really wanted to do. I wanted to create brands. A couple of mentoring calls later and feedback from my fellow HerBusiness members at a Roundtable, Brandivine was born.
I’ve never looked back.
My Expertise
I have spent most of my working life in the corporate world. For the first decade and a half I spent my time helping people keep healthy by eating Goulburn Valley Fruit, wiping up their mess with Sorbet Paper Towel (so strong) and making sure that the most emotional moments of their lives were taken care of by Sorbent Tissues.
As much fun as that was, and as passionate as I was about my “babies” I was tapped on the shoulder and asked if I wanted to be the Queen of Yellowglen. So for the next fifteen years, I spent my time travelling around Australia, going to wineries, tasting wines, running wine events and nurturing a new set of “babies”. You know the old saying…”someone’s got to do it.”
That was the past, the present is all about helping my clients uncover their “remarkable” brand stories. Stories that act as a compass for their business aligning everything that they do. The stories that they share allow people to know, like and trust them. People like their strategic partners, team members, designers, ideal clients and everyone else that connects with their business.
My Passions
Brands are my passion. They help make people’s lives better, they can bring a sense of unity and purpose to organisations. My greatest joy comes from the absolute delight on my client’s faces when they realise the power of their brand.
My Interests
Since lockdown I’ve started writing. Nothing extraordinary just posts on social media. Oh, and I love taking photos, sometimes to go with my posts. A well crafted post that captures people’s attention and imagination makes my heart sing.
I also love to travel and read, ideally at the same time. And of course when you travel, you need to eat the local food and sample the local wine. If I’m not travelling, I practice at home.
How I Can Help Other Members
I help my clients define their brand story.
Your brand is the face of your business and it should be doing all the heavy lifting. Often, clients have done all the things they think they should be doing, but they aren’t seeing they results they need. I help them build a relevant and engaging brand story. It becomes the compass for their business.
Your brand story defines your purpose, values and how you’re different to your competitors. This is the story that you share with everyone. It helps you attract like minded individuals. Strategic partners, referral partners, team members and of course your ideal client. When you consistently tell people the same story they begin to know, like and trust you. The most important thing it uncovers is the true value that you are delivering to your clients.
Once it’s finished, I encourage my clients to share their brand story with everyone they work with. It results in the alignment of everything in their business. Your strategic partners understand your purpose. Your team shares your values. Your content and social media reflects your brand story. Your customer service team delivers service that reflects your brand story.
