About Me - My Biography
To meet evolving stakeholder expectations and deliver sustainable economic returns, I help companies define, articulate and imbed purpose and values.
As a change and communications consultant, I assist organisations with the development of meaningful sustainability and corporate responsibility strategies , designing pathways for implementation and change, and driving genuine engagement with stakeholders. By doing this, organisations develop healthy self interest and collective well-being, leading to ongoing, sustainable success.
There is a strong business case for sustainability, from minimising costs and eliminating risk, to working with key stakeholders to meet expectations. Investors, employees, consumers, business partners, governments and communities all have vested interests in sustainability, impacting it as well as being affected by it.
- 81% of employees take into account Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability when considering where to work
- 78% of customers are more likely to buy from a company signed up to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
- 83% of Australian institutional investors consider non-financial factors including sustainability relevant when making investment decisions
- 70% of CEOs believe sustainability and corporate responsibility will be core to operations for successful businesses by 2020

My Expertise
As a change and communications consultant, I assist organisations with the development of meaningful sustainability and corporate responsibility strategies , designing pathways for implementation and change, and driving genuine engagement with stakeholders. By doing this, organisations develop healthy self interest and collective well-being, leading to ongoing, sustainable success.
After earning my corporate stripes at A.P. Moller – Maersk on their prestigious, global management program, I have gravitated from international supply chain solutions and general operations management to strategic corporate change and communications strategy.
I hold a Masters in Communications Management (Organisational Change and Communication) and Bachelor Degrees in Science (Environmental Biology) and Law.
In providing services to clients I take the time to understand the business. I proffer insights and creatively devise pragmatic and sometimes challenging solutions for ongoing success.
My Passions
I am passionate about social justice and the environment. In turning my focus to sustainability, my career has come full circle, combining the business values I enjoyed early in my career, skills and experience spanning a broad range of industries, education, and a sense of purpose.
My Interests
I love good: food, wine, coffee, conversation, humour, sailing, running & travel – not necessarily at the same time!

Why I Became a HerBusiness Member
As a freelancer I felt the need for a sense of workplace community and support. I am hoping to engage with, support, and be supported by like-minded business women through my membership, whilst developing some of the business skills I am weak(ish) in.
My Member to Member Offer(s)
Off the back of my first HerBusiness round table, I’m feeling enormous gratitude to the generosity of the group. So, I’ve created a special offer valid until EOFY for the HerBusiness community. This offer will be particularly useful if you have a business that makes consumer products or sells consumer products. To redeem this offer, or ask me more, email hello@katemchugh.net
