My Expertise
I am so grateful to have had such a long and varied career in the beauty industry, I have diverse experience almost all the facets :
- working in and owning my own salon
- CEO of my own successful Wholesale Distribution business in the spa & beauty industry for over 18years
- CEO of my own successful & funded RTO for approximately 9years
- representing several brands exclusively for the Australian market
- writing a regular column on beauty business for Australian magazine
- acting as beauty industry expert for media
- speaking internationally on skin care, nail care and the beauty industry from Australian perspective
- creating and heading a team of educators for several leading brands
- representing Australia and judging both nationally & internationally at the Nailympics after retiring from the competition arena myself
- creating webinars on business, science of beauty & selling
- marketing my own businesses
- recently promoting and offering services as an Elite Plasmologist
After being in business for such a long period of time, and facing a whole set of new challenges over the past few years, I have had to learn, evolve and develop my skillset. It has brought me to clearly think about why I am doing this, and I have found myself going back to my roots, I joined this industry because at my core I wanted to help people – help them feel better about themselves, feel more confident, look better, and have a truer sense of wellbeing.
As my career has developed, I have always had a clear vision of where I wanted to go – and plan and set goals in order to reach them. This year, I looked backwards to look forwards, and my words of the year is “LIGHT. ENERGY. MOTION” but it is my intention to re-connect with the reasons I’m in this game of business, to rejuvenate my passion, and to share that with others.
In this new incarnation of my career, I’m consulting and working with businesses to share my knowledge to give them a different perspective.
My Passions
As a gemini, I do get distracted by bright shiny things. Being part of the beauty industry, I get to embrace the duality of myself – the compliance and the creative.
My passion truly is to be the best I can be. I want to be a positive role model to those around me, especially my two darling daughters.
I make mistakes often – but I learn from them. I own my own behaviour and strive to surround myself with people who do the same. No one is perfect – life would be boring that way, but I strive to embrace the imperfection and find joy from the little things.
I strongly feel that women should empower each other and believe in themselves. I work hard on a daily basis, subtly often, to live this.
My Interests
Other than my gorgeous family & friends, you will find that most of my interests often link back to help my business in some way. I think in order to be successful, this has to be the case.
I love to learn new skills, I love to read (although these days I listen as I travel through my day) and I love to create in my Thermomix! I am also an airbrush artist, though sadly I don’t find as much time or space for it anymore.
I need to work on my own wellbeing and health, that is one of my goals.

Why I Became a HerBusiness Member
Having been in business for so many years, I have often felt it is a lonely place to be. Having to make so many decisions on your own on a daily basis is a fact of life, but after recently facing so many changes & challenges in the business world, I really felt like I wanted to find a network, of women predominantly – people who were in the same or similar position to me, who were open to sharing and supporting.
HerBusiness has been that for me. In particular the roundtables have been a very interesting, somewhat confronting at times (not controntational, but pushed me out of my comfort zone) and a professional but warm, fuzzy experience as well.
I chose HerBusiness because it has a diverse membership base – not all start ups or internet sensations – it is for all types of businesses and business people. I really enjoy the library of educational materials and the fact that I can use them when it suits me is a huge advantage.
